It situated on the foot of 'Lefka Ori' - White Mountains - in the province of Apokoronas, there is the traditional and historical village Vafes.
Vafes is 34km away from Chania, 33km from Rethimno and 10Km from Georgioupolis' beach. It is a village of extreme wild natural beauty, rich in fauna and flora, with a history starting centuries ago. Its inhabitants' occupations are stock-breeding and agriculture.
There is also a cooperation of traditional products, biological cultivations, a traditional tavern-restaurant and a traditional grocery. Furthermore, there are plenty of sights, such as an old traditional factory, a war and folkloric museum, ancient stone bridges, the historical and heroic Cave of 'Krionerida' and the Cave of 'Kalamatos'.
The 'Boutakas' River, with its ancient bridges and the water-mills, flows beside the village, arriving in Vrises where it meats an other two rivers.
In Vrises you can find bus depot, supermarket, bank, bookshop, internet cafe, bakery, petrol station, post office, souvenir shops and numerous cafes, restaurants and traditional taverns.
In this spectacular village, next to an amazing green gorge, we have created a beautiful guesthouse, made of stone, which combines both the strict traditional Cretan style and all the contemporary comforts.
There are three apartments, each of which is combined of two bedrooms, a kitchen and a sitting room and a bathroom. There are 4 - 6 beds in each apartment. The apartments are fully equipped with electrical appliances of all kinds and air-conditioning.
The view from the apartments is breathtaking. On the one side there is the gorge and 'Lefka Ori' - White Mountains - and on the other side the guest has the chance to enjoy the panoramic view of the whole village with its old and Venetian buildings.
On our fantastic stone yard there is a modern swimming pool, a barbecue area and a pool-bar made of stone. There is a reception service on a daily basis and room service every day except Sunday.

Am Fuss der weissen Berge, des 'Lefka Ori' befindet sich das traditionelle und historische Dorf Vafes, welches in der Provinz von Apokoronas liegt.
Vafes ist 34 km von Hania, 33 km von Rethimno und 10 km von dem Strand in Georgioupolis, entfernt. Es ist ein Dorf mit besonders wilder Naturschönheit, reich an Pflanzen und Blumen, mit einer Geschichte, die im Anfang des Jahrhunderts beginnt. Die Einwohner beschäftigen sich hauptsächlich mit der Landwirtschaft und der Viehzucht. Ausserdem gibt es hier eine Kooperation von traditionellen Produkten, biologische Kultivierung, eine traditionelle Taverne/Restaurant und ein traditionelles Lebensmittelgesch&aumlft. Ferner sind hier viele Sehenswürdigkeiten, wie eine traditionelle Fabrik, ein Kriegs- und Folkloremuseum, archäologische Steinbrücken, die historische und heldenhafte Höhle von 'Krionerida' und die Höhle von 'Kalamatos'. Der 'Boutakas' Fluss, mit seiner archäologischen Brücke und der Wassermühle, fliesst an Vafes vorbei und mündet dann in Vrises in zwei andere Flüsse
In Vrises finden Sie eine Busstation, Supermärkte, eine Bank, ein Buchladen, ein Internet Cafe, Bäcker, Tankstelle, eine Post, Souverniergeschäfte Und viele Cafes, Restaurants und traditionelle Tavernen. In diesem interssanten Dorf, neben einer wunderschönen grünen Schlucht, haben wir ein schönes Gästehaus errichtet. Es ist aus Stein gebaut, welches mit strikter Einhaltung des traditionellen, kretischen Stils, kombiniert mit jeglichem Komfort, errichtet wurde. Da sind drei Apartements, und jede von ihnen besitzt zwei Schlafzimmer, eine Küche, ein Wohnzimmer und ein Badezimmer. Vier bis sechs Betten sind in jedem Apartement. Die Apartements sind ausgestattet mit elektrischen Geräten jeglicher Art und alle Zimmer besitzen eine Klimaanlage. Die Aussicht aus den Apartements ist atemberaubend. Von der einen Seite ist die Schlucht und die weissen Berge, des -'Lefka Ori' und von der anderen Seite hat der Gast die Chance, das Panorama des gesamten Dorfes, mit seinen alten, venezianischen Gebäuden, zu geniessen. In unserem fantastischen Steinhof ist ein moderner Swimming pool, ein Grillplatz und eine aus Stein gebaute Bar. Täglich bietet die Rezeption ihren Service an. Die Reinigung der Zimmer erfolgt jeden Tag, ausser Sonntags.

Vafes est 34km loins de la Canée, 33km de Rethimno et 10Km de la plage de Georgioupolis. Il s’agit d’un village de beauté extrème, avec une histoire riche qui se déroule du fond des siècles. Le paysage est sauvage, plein de faune et flore. Ses habitants s’occupent de l’élevage et de l’agriculture d’une manière traditionnelle. Le village dispose d’une Coopération de produits traditionnelles, de cultivassions biologiques, d’une taverne traditionnelles et d’une épicerie. Il y a beaucoup de curiosité: une huilerie du 19éme siècle, un musée folklorique et de guerre, des ponds de pierre, la grotte historique et héroique de Krionerida et la grotte de Kalamatos. La rivière 'Boutakas', avec ses ponds anciens et les eau-moulins , coule à côté du village, et il s' arrive a Vrises ou il se vecontre avec deux autre rivieres.
A Vrises vous pouvez trouverle dépôt de bus, supermarché, banque, librairie, la poste,
caféé d'Internet, boutiques de suvenirs,
beacoup des Cafés, boulangerie, restaurants, et tavernes traditionnelles. Dans ce village extraordinaire, à côté d’une gorge toute verte, on a crée pour vous des appartements rustiques, construis de pierre, en ayant combiné un style strictement traditionnel avec tous les conforts contemporains. On dispose de trois appartements. Chaque appartement se constitue de deux chambres à coucher, d’une cuisine et d’un salon de séjour et d’un bain. Il y a 4 -6 lits dans chaque appartements, toutes sortes d’appareils et de la climatisation. La vue est spectaculaire: de l’un côté il y a la gorge et les ‘Monts Blancs’ et de l’autre côté, le visiteur a la chance de jouir la vue panoramique de tout le village avec ses bâtiments vieux et Vénitiens. Sur notre cour fantastique de pierre il y a une piscine moderne, un barbecue de pierre et un pool bar. Il y a un service de réception quotidiennement et du service de chambre chaque jour sauf le dimanche.
